Evaluando Twitter como indicador de opinión pública: una mirada al arribo de Bachelet a la presidencial chilena 2013

Abstract

This work analyses if Twitter is an effective public opinion indicator. It uses a dataset that gathers up two weeks activity of the main users that interact upon the arrival of Michelle Bachelet last march 2013 for the Chilean presidential election. It presents a general description of the case, sentiment analysis, and social network analysis. It is discovered that most messages were not favourable to the candidate, and it is detected a cluster of users that express messages against her.
